Thomas Sumter Academy’s campus infrastructure improvement project enhances safety, accessibility, and traffic circulation while modernizing critical site infrastructure to support the school’s long-term needs. The approximately 155,000-square-foot project replaces an aging parking system with comprehensive improvements designed to create a safer, more efficient, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
Planning for a safer, more efficient Campus
Iskagna became involved during preconstruction, supporting Thomas Sumter Academy through contractor procurement, including RFP development, proposal evaluation, value engineering, contractor interviews, and final selection. The project will introduce approximately 150 parking spaces, two new SCDOT-compliant entrance and exit connections, improved student drop-off and pick-up circulation, new stormwater infrastructure, pedestrian sidewalks, and site lighting.
Providing Oversight from Preconstruction Through Completion
During construction, Iskagna is serving as the Owner’s Representative and primary point of coordination between the school, contractor, civil engineer, permitting agencies, and other project stakeholders. Through regular site visits, project meeting facilitation, permitting coordination, budget and schedule management, and quality control, our team is helping keep the project moving forward while minimizing disruption to ongoing campus operations.
Once complete, the improvements will provide Thomas Sumter Academy with increased parking capacity, improved pedestrian connectivity, safer traffic patterns, and modernized infrastructure, creating a campus better equipped to serve its community for years to come.
