Located within the historic Storehouse 8 at the Navy Yard, the Stark showroom is a roughly 2,100 SF interior fit-out for a leading luxury carpet and rug brand. The project adds a dynamic, multi-level showroom to the building’s “Design District,” a collection of suites where premier interior finish vendors display their products to the design and construction community, contributing to the Navy Yard’s growing role as a hub for Charleston’s design industry.
Coordinating a Multi-Level Fit-Out
Iskagna provided project management services, supporting coordination among ownership, the design team, and construction partners. The scope included a first-floor showroom, a new mezzanine and connecting stair, a sample room, and full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and low voltage systems. Custom tenant display fixtures, including display racks and a rug lift for large-format pieces, required close coordination with Stark throughout construction. The project later expanded to include a redesigned first-floor corridor featuring shadowbox display windows, arched glass, wainscoting, and an etched concrete floor pattern, extending the brand experience beyond the suite itself.
Showcasing a Brand Within a Historic Setting
Our role focused on delivering a space that meets the presentation standards of a premier brand while celebrating the character of a building originally constructed in 1906 as naval administrative offices. Details such as a hand-painted exposed duct system and finished exposed structure reinforce the building’s industrial roots, while track and pendant lighting highlight the collections across both levels. The result is a refined, functional showroom that ensures quality and consistency from design through turnover.
