Naval Hospital’s history dates back to 1973 when it was built as a 500-bed facility. While it no longer serves its original purpose, our team is working on this 420,000-square-foot space to redevelop it and create a new residential community. With the client pursuing Historic Tax Credits, the Navy Hospital falls partially under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, which has strict regulations on changes to the building’s facade.
Revitalizing an Iconic Space
Our team has been involved with managing the design process, permitting, general contractor procurement, and construction.
Navy Hospital will feature 292 apartments across 11 stories in a variety of floor plans, including studio, one and two-bedroom, lofts, and live-work units. Along with primary living space, Naval Hospital will include a fitness center, yoga studio, and underground parking for residents.
