The Charleston County School District (CCSD) launched an extensive building program to deliver critical facility upgrades to James B. Edwards Elementary School and Bell Hall Elementary School. The scope of work included updates to restroom facilities, enhancements to the HVAC system, replacement of acoustical ceilings, and improvements to doors, hardware, and interior finishes, such as painting.
These improvements were designed to create safer, more comfortable, and functionally updated environments that support the educational experience for both students and staff.
Working Through Challenges with a Tight Timeline
Members of the Iskagna team worked for the general contractor and were responsible for executing all aspects of the renovation work within a strict schedule during the summer break.
They coordinated closely with the district, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure each scope item was delivered with high quality and with minimal disruption to school operations.
Commissioning of HVAC systems was a significant challenge in this project, which required close coordination with the controls contractor. Through effective management, the project avoided delays and ensured all systems were operational in time for the new school year.
No Disruption to Learning
The CCSD Maintenance Program Renovations were successfully completed on time and within the $500,000 budget. By finishing all work during the summer break, schools were fully functional and ready to welcome students and staff for the start of the academic year—meeting Charleston County School District’s goals for improved learning environments with zero interruption to instruction.
